Short Definition: The apperence or Spawn of an NPC or Hazards in the map
when exploring, there is a likely possibility to interact with other new creature and Features of the Environment.
We refer such interaction as Encounters.

Encounters might be harmless entailing an interaction with other friendly animals
or be with a dangerous predator, natural Hazards or Man-made traps

Encounters may be Planned by the GM for story reason,
or may be Random Encounters determined by a roll roughly each hours while no Planned Encounters are expected,

See: Wandering Encounter

In a predator-prey relations, An Encounters will proceed in phases:

  • Spotting If one of the party has not spotted the other this phase can prevent or start the other phase of the encounter.
  • Pursuit If one party want to run away from the fight before it happen, you can use this phase to escape from the combat after being spotted
  • Combat This is the actual combat. Needless to say, if you feel like the other phases are too cumbersome you can simplify each encounter and jump straight here.
  • Underground Combat Extra rules for underground combat scenarios (Burrows, caves, etc...)
